The Day Care Room for Infants on Waiting Lists for Nursery Schools
Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center offers the Day Care Room for Infants on Waiting Lists for Public Nursery School to help researchers and students whose children are on waiting lists for admission to nursery schools to pursue their research and educational goals while raising their children. Those eligible to use the Day Care Room shall be, in principle, students and researchers of Kyoto University. We commission the management to a private company, and the university covers a portion of the cost for the care. Those who wish to use the Day Care Room need to read information for the applicants below carefully and apply to the Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center.

Eligible Children | Those eligible to be admitted to the Day Care Room shall be healthy infants aged from 9 weeks to younger than 15 months. (until the end of the previous month the child turns to 15 months old) Maximum number of children to be admitted: April-May : up to 3 children June-August : up to 6 children September-March : up to 18 children |

Open Hours | 9:00 - 18:00 Out-of-hours nursery service may be provided between 8:00 and 9:00 and between 18:00 and 20:00 p.m. (the extra fees required) If a storm or emergency warning has been issued for Kyoto City as of 8:00 a.m., you are asked to not leave your child(ren) at the Day Care Room. If a storm or emergency warning is issued during the day care period, please come and pick up your child(ren) as soon as possible. |

Fees | Monthly Nursery Fees (tax included) per Child
※2)The Nursery fees shall be charged on a monthly basis. If the child is admitted to or leave the Day Care Room in the middle of a month, the nursery fees for that month could be calculated by multiplying the actual number of days the child attended the Day Care Room by the daily rate of 2,500 yen (2,000 yen: student), tax included. ※3)Out-of-hours nursery fees per 30 minutes per child: Ordinary 1,000 yen(tax included) / Student 800 yen(tax included) Note: ①Applying for out-of-hour nursery service must be done by 16:00 of one business day prior to your intended date of use. Applying for out-of-hour nursery service after the above-specified time is not accepetd. ②In case the users pick up the child after 18:00 without applying for out-of -hour nursery service in advance, the users shall be charged a special out-of-hours nursery fee of 1500 yen per 30 minutes per child (tax included and no student discout applied). ※4)The users need to bring the child’s diapers, wipes, baby formula, snacks, meals and etc. The Nursery fees do not include those costs. ※5) The Nursery fees will be calculated by multiplying 80/100, in cases where more than two infants from the same family, such as twins, are using the Day Care Room. |

How to Apply for the Day Care Room | To apply for enrollment, fill out the Pre-Registration Form and the Application Form, and send them to the Center. Those who already submitted the Pre-Registration Form just need to send the Application Form. In addition, the copy of the Notice of Disapproval issued by the Welfare Office in your district needs to be submitted prior to the scheduled admission date. |
Flow from Registration to Admission
1. PRE-REGISTRATION
Fill out the Pre-Registration Form( PDF ・ DOC) and submit it to the Center.
A copy of your staff ID card, student ID card, Notice of Employment or other documents issued by Kyoto University should be attached to the Pre-Registration Form.

2. APPLY FOR USE OF THE DAY CARE ROOM
Fill out the Apprication Form( PDF ・ DOC) and Medical Report Form (PDF ・ XLS) and submit it to the Center at least one month before the desired date of admission. If there are special reasons, applications (the Pre-Registration and Application forms) may be submitted after the designated due date. The copy of the Notice of Disapproval issued by the Welfare Office needs to be submitted prior to the scheduled admission date. When any change occurs on applications, please fill out the Request for Change of Use Form and submit it to the Center
3. THE ISSUE OF APPLICATION RESULT NOTICE
On receipt of an application, the Director of the Gender Equality Promotion Center shall decide whether the application is to be accepted or not, and send an Application Result Notice to the applicant.
4.RULES AND REGULATIONS
The users must abide by these Rules and Regulations as well as those of the Day Care Room Handbook. (The handbook will be distributed to the users of the Day Care Room)
5. REQUEST FOR CHANGE/CANCELLATION OF USE
Those users who have been approved must submit the Request for Change of Use Form, when any charge occurs on applications.
To Change the desired date of entrance after being accepted the Day care Room, the users should submit the Request for Change of Use Form to the center at least 8 business days prior to the scheduled date.
To withdraw of a child from the Day Care Room, the users should submitted the Request for Change of Use Form to the center at least 8 business days prior to the scheduled date.
If the Request for Change of Use from is submitted after the designated date, nursery fees for the actual number of days delayed will be charged.
6. PAYMENT OF NURSERY FEES
Nursery fees must be paid by the designated due date via the method designated by Kyoto University.
INSURANCE
Compensation of damage resulting from the use of the Center facilities is covered by the Comprehensive Non-Life Insurance for National Universities. Compensation of damage resulting from the childcare operations is covered by a liability insurance for a management corporation that provides child care.
HANDLING OF PRIVATE INFORMATION
The private information the center collects through the admission process shall be used only for the purposes of providing the services of the Day Care Room and communicating to the users.
